YAY, The project is finished. From one Queen Fitted bed sheet I was able to make a rug that is 17inches x 30inches. I made it up very simple, stockinette with a garter stitch around the edges. I had a couple yards left over and finger knitted a chew toy for my Granddog ;-)

As you can see, I just had to try it…I crafted my own needles : D
I used a 5/8inch dowel rod because it is closest to 15mm or US19 needle size. Using my whittling knife I started the points. The other end was finished in wood findings from a craft store. The points were finished with a palm sander. I held it in my left hand and worked the points with my right. Then the needles were rubbed with a paste wax…and there ya go!

I stripped my sheet to 2inch strips and stitched the strips end to end using a sewing machine (just a quick couple stitches to hold them together).

This project will be a bath mat.
