I bought 4 balls of this yarn because it’s used double. You could get by easily with 3 balls if you don’t mind pulling from both ends. The hat is easy enough to use but I’m not really sure why the pattern calls for double stranding the yarn, it make a very thick stiff look and makes doing the miles and miles of moss stitch very tiresome. The mustaches are a bit fiddly but Adam is very happy with the hat and several of his friends have already started asking me for similar hats.
