Notes

A very clear pattern indeed although my left-handed brain logic (or maybe it’s just me) felt challenged by the logic of the construction. It is better to simply knit rather than ponder on the black and white print.

I was a little fearful of the garter stitch being very stretchy so I decided to downsize to 4mm needles instead of 4.5mm. The final result is fine but next time I will meekly take the suggested needle size.

I fell in love with these Madelinetosh colourways whilst visiting Loop for an embroidery course with Cécile Franconie a couple of weeks ago. That pink is simply heavenly.

I named it Fêtes Galantes after Paul Verlaine’s poems which I use as a theme to introduce this pattern on my blog.

My daughter, Héloïse, is wearing it here.
