Notes

CO 144 instead of 112 for 9 repeats of chart with my finer yarn. I should have made it 11 repeats for a looser cowl, but I loosened up my tension for the ending rib and bind off so it widens out and can fall around my collarbone instead of higher up on my neck. The CO edge is still snug, but it stays securely up when I pull it over my chin. (I’m basically wearing it upside down.)

The yarn was a good choice. It split frequently and I found a couple of undyed bits of fluff and lots of tiny, darker, fluffy pills, but they’re not noticeable in the finished product. The cables stand out well. It’s very soft and warm, and drapes nicely when the cowl is scrunched down under my chin.

This pattern was a delight to work with. It was easy to keep track of without the chart after the first 2 rows, and the overall effect is beautiful.
