Notes

This is my 13th Hitchhiker! Usually I use leftover sock yarn and make 3 or 4 changes in the color as I progress.
This variation was inspired by the Lacy Baktus, which has a row of (yo, k2t) every 8 rows. Since the Hitchhiker steps down every 8 rows, it was a natural for putting the row of eyelets in every 8 rows. So, on each row that begins with the 5 stitch bind off, I did the bind off, knit one more stitch, then did the (yo, k2t) all the way across, then kfb in the last stitch, as usual. I love the effect, especially with this colorway, which does not have a lot of variation in the color.
This only has 34 points, but I didn’t want to buy another skein, and I stretched it quite a bit when I blocked it, so it is plenty long enough to go twice around the neck and still have 2 long tails.
