Got off to a bad start with this hat - used a thicker yarn and the hat came out way too big! Scaled back on the yarn this time, used Caron One Pound - my go-to afghan yarn - and the hat came out fine! Used size 8 needles for ribbing and size 10 for the rest of the hat. Very thick and cushy hat - it will go fast!

Regardless of what my camera is trying to make you believe - the hat and cowl are made from different shades of blue, made by different yarn companies. The 2nd photo shows better what the two objects look like colorwise.
