I think these socks are from a Finnish magazine.
I’m listening to The Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin - in book 3 as I start these socks. Not exactly like the TV series, but at least I know who the players are.
The curved rows in these socks put me in mind of terraced gardens on a hillside.

As of July 10 I am about 1/2 way done - down to the heel flaps. I’m now on book 5 of The Song of Fire and Ice - we’ve had many days when it was too hot to knit and the fireworks terrified Diva so a lot of my knitting time was spent in comforting her. The booms have decreased in number this past couple of days and I’ve picked the socks up again.

And then I started PT on my hands and was not knitting socks for a few weeks. It’s Labor Day Weekend and it’s been well over 100 deg for the past few days and my hands are sweating working with the wool. But I finally finished them and it only took another couple of nights work. I’ve got them soaking in some lavender wool wash and will block them for Richard.
