I’m so pleased with the results of this little shawl from just one skein of Shibui Silk Cloud!

A few important notes:

• sharp needle tips were essential. I started this project on my regular Hiya Hiyas and almost immediately headed to my LYS for some Knitters’ Pride circulars instead to take advantage of a sharper point.

• The 7-stitch nupps would have been impossible without a tiny crochet hook. I ended up pulling them all through with the hook instead of attempting a p-7-tog.

• The lace pattern rows took a very long time and required deep concentration, but after those first few rows, I basically blinked my eyes and this shawl was done.

• This yarn is lovely. It reminded me of Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze, which has a similar fiber content, but the Shibui is finer and softer. In case you are wondering, this yarn is not good for ripping out. If you are using this stuff, you should plan on either not making any mistakes or learning to live with them in your finished product (the hazy fuzz should help with the latter option).
