Grabbed an 8 oz mystery bump from a forgotten vendor at Rhinebeck about 5 years ago. I spun this maybe 3 years ago, and loved every yard of it. It’s working up into a lovely, rustic shawl!!
Instead of following the x wedges with the rows of garter, I’m doing a wedge across the length of the shawl, turning every 9 stitches (instead of 3). I’m hoping this gives it an interesting look both structurally and in terms of how the colors play. Not wanting to have a disproportionate last wedge, I changed the turning stitch count to 12 to eat up some of the width, before returning to every 6 stitches. Clear as mud, right?
I’m now finishing it with some rows of garter and am hoping to use up all but a few yards of this 8oz hank of lovin’.
Blocking as of this morning. As expected, the garter stitch fabric grew, and I might have to spot block a couple of the wedges. This is super soft and adequately fuzzy. I wish I knew the fiber content, but will have to remain blissfully ignorant in that regard.
