A cover for this IKEA stool

This was the original prototype for the hexagon pattern but the final pattern ended up being a little different. For this one, I cast on 19 for each segment, and uses a tighter gauge for a denser fabric. I also felted it a little, then aggressively blocked each square.

For the finishing, I machine-stitched the squares together with raw edges on the outside, but I didn’t like the way it looked, so I blanket-stitched over the seams with the black to make the seams look more deliberate.

I knitted a black garter stitch edge along the bottom because some of the shapes’ raw edges didn’t sit right.

I couldn’t be happier with the final piece! The colours turned out very different from what I was expecting - much brighter! I love the effect. It has pride of place in my home.
