Notes

This blanket was knit on US size 9 needles. I used a US size 10 for all the bind offs. I joined the blocks using a crochet slip stitch and a J (6.00 mm) hook.

I pick up my stitches a little differently than suggested in the pattern. Along the sides of the garter stitch I pick up my stitches in the ridge bumps along the edge rather than between the ridges. The count is exact this way (no fudging necessary).

I began this blanket as a means of using up the leftovers from the Box of Crayons Log Cabin blanket that I had recently made. Rather ironically, when I was almost finished I ran out of orange and ended up having to buy more. Of course that color is discontinued, so I had to resort to finding someone with a spare skein in their stash, which meant that my blanket spent over a month in hibernation at 95% complete. It also means that I have now put practically a full pound of my least favorite color back into my stash. Sigh. I also ran out of red, but I found some mystery yarn in my stash that was a close enough match to save me buying yet another pound of yarn that I don’t really want.
