Notes

I’m using size 4 DPN’s and making women’s size large; 48 stitches. Tighten all cast on figure 8 stitches before beginning to knit them. Begin by knitting across first half of cast stitches and then tighten tension on remaining cast on stitches before knitting them. You should end up with a nice, even stitch pattern. Remember, you need to place the 2 set of cast on stitches correctly on the needle before knitting them or else they will be twisted.

I’m using only three needles and increasing one stitch per the KFB method instead of the M1 increase (it looks more even to me). I divided stitches as follows:
Needle 1: 11 stitches
Needle 2: 11 stitches
Needle 3: 22 stitches
Here’s what I did:
Needle 1: KFB, knit across remaining stitches;
Needle 2: knit across stitches until last two stitches, KFB, K1;
Needle 3: KFB, knit across stitches until last two stitches, KFB, K1.
Be sure to mark the first stitch of Needle 2 per instructions as you will need this later when you do the heel.

I purchased the Fish Kiss Lips heel pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fish-lips-kiss-heel and incorporated it into these socks. I had 22 stitches for the heel with 8 stitches in the middle, left unworked per the heel instructions. The Fish Kiss Lip heel pattern works great and is well written.
