Notes

Neckline

  • I changed the neckline so that the dispersion of increases was even all the way around: with a size 3 needle, CO 140 sts, k1 rnd, p2 rnds, {k7, m1} for 1 rnd, then switch to a size 4 needle, k3 rnds, {k4, m1} for 1 rnd, k1 rnd, then begin chart 1
  • If I re-knit this pattern I would CO fewer sts and do more increase rounds since the neckline is still quite wide

Chart 1

  • How I knit my bobbles: kfbf, slip 3 sts to L needle, k3, on R needle: sl 2 sts on right over leftmost stitch, wrap CC yarn counterclockwise around bobble stitch, then continue in chart pattern
  • On row 7 of chart 1, I switched the m1R and m1L so they would be in the same order as all the other rows (i.e. m1L, m1R instead of m1R, m1L).
  • At the beginning of row 34 on chart 1, I moved my BOR marker over to the left by 4 sts in order to center the largest moons directly under the bobbles

Body

  • I followed pattern increases but began chart 3 early, body measures 10.5” between ending of chart 1 and beginning of chart 3
  • If I re-knit this pattern, I would add few more knit rows after finishing chart 3/before starting the purl rows for the hem. I would also add a few more rows to the hem since it has a tendency to curl up. I worry that the colorwork floats so close to the bottom of the sweater will catch and snag

Sleeves

  • With size 4 needle, using the pattern stitch count (75 on hold & pick up 5 for 80 total) k 12 rows, then do the first decrease row (k1, ssk, k to last 2 sts, k2tog, k1), followed {k 10 rows, decrease row} for a total 8 decrease rows per sleeve (64 sts remain). After last/8th decrease row, k 20 rows, then knit rows 1-19 of chart 2. Switch to size 3 needle, k 5 rows, then 2x2 ribbing for 20 sts and use stretchy BO method

Yarn

  • Many of the test knitters ran out/low on their MC yarn. I suggest buying an extra skein if you plan to knit a full length body and sleeves
  • I only used one skein of CC since I only knit rows 1-19 of the chart 2 colorwork on my sleeves
