8/19/15 ~ back in mid-June, i was a random customer at a store where Ayana was working. we were talking about Dr Who and she mentioned she really wanted a scarf. i finished my purchase and went home. later in the afternoon, i thought about it, and then gave her a call back. i told her if she was willing to buy the yarn, i would make her one, and quoted a price. she gave me her email and i sent her the list of yarn colors. after some back and forth, she had all the info of what and how much to get.
a few weeks later, i emailed to follow up, and she was still interested, but still collecting the yarn. i asked if it was all right to follow up at the end of July or so, to see how she was doing, and that was fine with her.
it was august 1 when i followed up again, and as of yet, my email is still unanswered. i called the store i’d visited in June, but it turned out she was no longer working there, and they were able to give me the name of her new place.
it was then i decided to just go ahead and make the scarf, and when i’m done, i plan on taking it to her new workplace (when she’s not there) with a card that says “happy christmas; pay it forward” on it, and leave my own business card. i don’t know her circumstances or reasons why she hasn’t gotten back to me, but i don’t want to email her and reveal what i’m doing. and i’m hoping this brightens her day a little bit too.

i dropped off the scarf at Ayana’s workplace - she wasn’t in, which was what i was hoping. i gave the woman at the counter a brief summary of how i came there today, simply saying that Ayana had wanted a special scarf, and since i didn’t know her situation, i went ahead and made it for her. i included my business card, with a note on the back that simply said “pay it forward. :)”
the woman working told me that Ayana was scheduled to work Saturday, 9/5, at 1:30, and the woman would put the bag (with the scarf, of course) in the back room where Ayana would see it. i did tell the woman that she could tell Ayana “some lady dropped it off.”
now, we see what happens.

email conversation, 9/5 & 9/6/15:
Ayana: Hey! I just came in to my store and found the scarf! You’re amazing! Thank you! How much do you want all together? I get paid friday :] I love it so much!!!
me: You’re welcome!! All I ask is that you pay it forward somehow at some point.
Ayana: Definitely! You’re amazing :]
