Notes

General
Note to self: Always use a DPN when binding off in the round. So much easier than to use the other end of the circular needle.

Nice fit over the shoulders but the shortrow overlap should have been much more gradual. The current angle is far too steep and interfers with the fit of the front neckline (see closeup). And placing the BOR at a front raglan is just stupid!

MC Coquette Deux, CC Holi Festival

Yarn was nice to work with. Very smooth and even. And only minimal bleeding from the dark colourway. It did seem to become slightly fuzzy from prolonged handling however. Will have to wait and see how it stands up to daily wear.

TCKAL cast-on post: #432

Mods

  • cast on for L but will have to adjust later for my tighter gauge,
  • moved BOR to left back raglan before starting shortrows,
  • using German shortrows (doublestitch),
  • using lifted increases,
  • put marker in the middle of each raglan = increase 2 st before and 3 after,
  • knit increases as for L + 1 more pattern repeat with increases only on the first r,
  • cast on 4 st under each arm with a provisional co = 86 st for each sleeve and 260 st for the body,
  • increased for body alternately every 4th and 5th round 13 times = 368 st, then 4 r MC 2 r CC 4 r MC, ribbing 10 r.
  • using 3.75 & 3.25mm needles for sleeves since I knit tighter at smaller circumferences,
  • picked up 1 st on each side of provisional cast-on on sleeves and deleated away on the next r,
  • want a narrower sleeve so started decreases after 3 cm and then every 7th r 13 times, 2 r CC and 4 r MC, 8 r ribbing.
