Notes

The saki is a very shy monkey. A nodding violet, so to speak.

Ack. Just made it to the heel flap and I tried it on - it doesn’t fit over my heel. I knit this on a smaller needle than specified to get a better sock fabric and because I thought I’d heard that this sock tended to be too big. I guess I need to go read others’ comments more carefully.

Adapted to add an extra 8 sts around for a total of 72 cuff sts. At the gusset, I did decrease back to the original count - 64 sts. I did this by adding one more stitch to each side of the purl sections - it also means the pattern is 2 rows longer. This makes for a sock that easily gets over my heel and fits nice and snug on my foot.

Those 72 sts on size 1 needles with 2 extra rows per pattern repeat use a lot of yarn - I ended up with all of 1.2 grams left, counting the ends clipped after weaving in!

I really enjoyed the pattern, but would have given it a higher rating if it had explained some of the sizing issues or given more options. Still, for a free pattern, pretty great.
