Notes

Thinking of stranding these together for this. Considered it last year for Diantha (why the beads are in the pic); prompted by seeing this project stranded in similar colors. Will seek recommendations for needle size on kal thread. zuzusus speculates #7 for body, #10 for cast on should work.

Will likely not get cast on until I have taxes done (or have filed for extension yet again).

Backwards loop cast on US#10, purled back on US#7, begin chart.

After working through lace chart, it looks to be pretty big. Not wanting to frog entirely to remove a couple of chart repeats, consulted Susanna and group mods. Ran lifeline through row 21, purled back row 22, then did a row 23 of:

k2tog, then work reps of k12, sl2-k1-psso to end (ssk at left edge)
worked the purl back row, ended up with 235 stitches (18 sections, 13 stitches + 1 edge stitch).

Began short rows by k122, turn, p9, and proceed with +2 short rows.
Worked short rows to roughly row 68 from beginning of chart (92 sts of short rows worked, about 50 sts at each end) and have changed to +3 short rows.

So very, very happy with the results from stranding a heather and a variegated here.

Need to do the two rows seed stitch, then the i-cord bind off, and block.

05/01: On the pins.
Ends: 5.5 inches
Center back: 16.5 inches
Curved neck edge: 42 inches
Around points: 98.5 inches

Used approx 40 gr each of Shadow & Shimmer, 352 yds each

Note for me: If I were to do this again, I should remove two repeats to get the size I want. The mods helped, but despite non-aggressive blocking, it still grew to be wraparound size. Also, might attempt a third cable twist row if I can figure one out without making it go wonky. To me, the cabling is not obvious with only two twists, a third would highlight it a little more. Front view on-the-body shot shows one repeat folded back on each end. Color probably closest in the top sunlight picture.
