Notes

Starting with knitted cast on. We’ll see if it takes.
And somehow I managed to drop a cast on stitch as I was working row 1. We’ll see how my faked cast on stitch works. I’m thinking it will be okay.
04/23/12: Confession time. It didn’t take. I was hoping to make really good progress over the weekend, but alas, it was not to be. Moving along now, but on the third knitted cast on. Progress was also impeded by attempting the much-touted superfloss beading method. After two bead rows (plenty of opportunity to get a routine down) I found it too slow and awkward. Have returned to the tiny crochet hook system. On the plus side, I have a lot of portable dental floss I can use now. I am also beading on the purl back row as noted somewhere on rav. Bead study found here. It does seem to bring the beads forward more and creates less wonk with the stitches (at least on unblocked lacework). I’ll reserve final judgment for post-blocking.
04/25/12: The husband really ticked me off yesterday and I picked up Billie to regain my calm, serene demeanor. The fix didn’t work this time. I was too angry and now I am lost; frogging for a restart.
I feel better about the bead choice though, seeing them on the yarn, and think the KP yarn will be a fair substitute.

06/16/12: Going to cast on for this again, and take out two of the pattern repeats CO 301. I like the size of my centifolia and hope this reduction will make Billie wrap around a little less.

06/17/12: Free Showtime this weekend with a marathon of season 1 of Homeland got me through the cast on and 12 rows (not without a few instances of tinking back).

06/24/12: Good thing I knocked off two pattern repeats. Finished row 26 last night with 8 beads remaining. At short row start, have burned through 20 grams, 30 remaining. Contemplating using the stitch from Shui Kuen’s Longing for Robins Return for the body, although I screwed that up pretty badly. But then again, it was my first-ever lace shawl. We’ll see. Nah. Don’t want to frog back if I mess up again. Stockinette it will be.
Augh. Crappy phone cam pictures. Color is like the first (frogged) version just above the yarn/project pic.

06/26/12: Needs blocking. Used 28 grams, about 245 yards (22 remain, about 194 yards).

06/27/12: Blocked size (minus two repeats, US#6 and US#8 needles) End half points 8-1/2 inches; end point-to-end point 29 inches; neckline edge (as pinned) 47 inches; center point to center back neck edge 13-1/2 inches.
