I am using a 3.25mm needle to knit this for the simple reason that it is the smallest Signature Needle Arts circular available. :-) I am liking the fabric I am getting with this needle, so it is all good!
Rather than break the yarn at the end of each section, I am carrying the color not in use up the side by knitting it together with the working yarn at the end of each even-numbered row. It makes a nice-looking elastic edge.
I ran out of the solid color 4 rows shy of completion, due to using a larger needle, so simply ended it there. I needed to dip into a secnd skein of the variegated color because of the same reason.
To block, I put the piece in a mesh bag and put in the washing machine set to delicate cycle with warm water, then in the dryer set to delicate. It came out beautifully blocked, all stitches nicely even, and very soft. The second photo is a close-up after blocking.
