Using M1R and M1L around central st of rows 1-13
using M1L and M1R rows 17-30 but wish i had done it differently. should have made these M1LP and M1RP instead and lean should have been away from the line of the stst section (so converse to what i did)

great result but oh so tedious knitting. not quite complicated enough to be totally absorbing. not quite simple enough to be able to read while knitting. maybe it’s also that i haven’t knit a cowl or scarf in so long: the stitch count is always the same.

2 mar 14 - picked it up again to knit second half, knitting is going more smoothly this half. finished row 4.
