16 aug 2020 - three years, three months, 11 days. FINISHED!!
12 aug - 29 rows ribbing done
11 aug - finished the charts!!!
9 aug - finished rpt 29 and 3 rows of 30. I can do this!
8 aug - so five months ago I realised that I still had two rpts to go. 4 rows done.
8 mar - pattern rows all done and 5 of ribbing
7 mar - FOUR ROWS TO GO!! (Well, four pattern rows. Then there’s ribbing)
5 mar - rpt 26 done!!
2 feb - rpt 25 done. 26 rows to go.
27 jan - fnished rpt 24, that’s all incrs done
5 jan - rpt 23 done, halfway through rpt 24 so almost made it. But they’re looking kind of short … ahh, that’s bc there’s 4 more rpts to work even.
3 jan 20 - i’m determined. rpt 21 finished, 27 rows to go.
23 dec 19 - still at it. Rpt 20, gusset incr 5 done.
27 feb 19 - third gusset incr (rpt 19, row 3)
23 aug - second gusset incr done
1 aug - ok, rpt 17 done! Time to start the gusset incrs although I think possibly time to take a little break from these. My eyes boggle a bit when I try looking at the knitting now!
31 jul - rpt 15 done. aaargh! one row short of finishing rpt 17
28 jul - rpt 14 row 5 done.
27 jul - 13 rpts.
26 jul - oooh, 9 rpts. No, 10 rpts!! and turned the heel. Row 4 of rpt 11 done.
27 jun - oh goodness. Have done 5 foot repeats. Five to go.
29 aug - 46 rows of ribbing and sock 1 is complete! 41gm of the skein of schwarz left over (but it may have been over-weight to begin with)
26 aug - oh my goodness! Just finished rpt 30 and I’m calling it. Yes, long enough (just as I originally calculated). Ribbing time - 20 rows done.
22 aug - bought some non-rolling elastic at darn cheap today. Finished rpt 28. Four to go? Oh I hope so!!
20 aug - rpt 27 complete
19 aug- rpt 25 complete
8 aug - yay! Second toe finished.
7 aug - knit a few more rounds of the toe on the morning train.
25 jul - cast second sock on (no, still haven’t finished the first, just needed something to do!)
20 jul - incr 12 done (rpt 24 row 7)
19 jul - rpt 23 done. 10 every-6-rows increases done.
18 jul - rpt 20 done
17 jul - halfway through rpt 20. have done five incr rows so far (every sixth row). i think fit is ok. i started the increases bc i felt that i had to but am unsure. oh well, if they end up too baggy i’ll just frog a ways …
13 jul - ok, am going to embark on the increases. have knit 7 rpts since turning heel. rpt 18 complete, includes 2 incr rows.

8 jul - finished rpt 14 and 8 rows
7 jul - finished rpt 13
6 jul - finished row 6 of rpt 12
5 jul - finished turning heel over morning hot chocolate instead of coming up to the office. Changed back to black yarn at last knit row across heel, means not having to cut the yarn. Have to remember to strand the black yarn across that stitch to act as the wrap. Maybe 25gm to knit foot, maybe more? i didn’t weigh my skein before starting and they are usually overweight. could be more like 30, 35
4 jul - ugh, halfway through heel and realised i had a stitch too many. rip rip rip. reknit three or four rows of sock, halfway through heel. again. for the fourth time.
3 jul - finished heel and rpt 10. nope, didn’t. have now knit and frogged the heel twice. decided the foot wasn’t long so have worked 10 rpts.
2 jul - finished rpt 9 row 6. Work is exactly 8 1/2”
1 jul - finished row 6 of rpt 9. one rpt to go, then heel!
20 jun - finished 5 rpts. pretty hard-going knitting on the right arm. measure 5” in length so i think 4 2/3 rpts to go.
6 May - finished one rpt. 3/4” in length.
5 May - cast on again for toe in olio vergine and on 2mm needle (bc I thought it needed to be snugger and bc I can actually see what I’m doing in the olio vergine). Toe done. Changed to schwarz after the final increase row.
3 May 2017 - one toe cast on. Actually the bit that I find most onerous. So, halfway through that!
