22 sep - no, didn’t end up needing to knit that many rows. Not sure how many I did. It’s more than 5” in length from the last incr. just more.
21 sept 2015 - basing hat on pattern numbers. cast on from the top down bc am concerned about yardage. Possibly pointlessly but anyway. Used the tech knitter circular cast on, although I’m not sure that this yarn can really manage the tightening to draw it in … Might have to do that bit w some other yarn for strength. Using kf/b for increases. Did an extra incr row to 72sts. Depth is currently 3.5”. I think I need to knit 30 more rows then can start ribbing.
