Notes

Just a quick note about how my version of this sweater worked out in sizing:

DB is a 95th percentile kiddo, and as of this note he is 17.5 months. The cardi currently fits him beautifully. Up until now, we rolled the sleeves up a bit and it was a roomier sweater, but I was very happy with how this project ended up overall.
If you are planning on using this yarn and these needles, you will have a sweater that will be larger than the pattern intended for this size, but for kids in the 95th percentile in size, it’s a good fit and they’ll get lots of wear out of it.

The yarn is fabulous and I would definitely recommend it for kids cardis. The fiber content allows it to breathe nicely and it still maintains warmth when needed.

Sept 7th, 2010 - Cast off last sleeve last night. Now I’m just trying to choose between 3 button looks. I only have 4 buttons of the style that I like best. Considering only having 4 buttons or finding one that is similar enough for the top or bottom. Not sure about the other two button style options. Hmmm…

August 15th, 2010 - Added arm shaping decreases from this pattern both to conserve yarn (yeah, I know, it’s a minimal conservation at best :P) and to prevent the arms from being too baggy since I adding length to the original pattern.

August 15th, 2010 - Yep, definitely going to need that extra skein. Luckily Lettuce Knit still has the dyelot that I originally bought.
I wouldn’t need the extra skein if I hadn’t lengthened the sleeves on this sweater, but I envisioned longer sleeves on this baby sweater.
Should be able to finish this by next Monday! fingers crossed

August 12th, 2010 - Okay, it’s getting really close here. Just have two sleeves and a button band left to knit and I’m not sure I’ll have enough brown to finish. Going to do my best, but worried I may have to order a whole new skein of brown just to finish.
Cross your fingers for me!

August 11th, 2010 - I don’t have any actual updates today. I just needed to say that I LOVE this yarn and I adore this sweater. I cannot wait to put it on my little Dragon Boy when he’s big enough.
Eeeee! I would wear this sweater, that’s how comfy it looks.
I can hardly believe that a little boy, that will belong to me, of all people, will be wearing this sweater. So excited to meet him and snuggle him up in hand knits. :D

August 8th 2010 - The original pattern seems to have really short sleeves. Given that Dragon Boy isn’t born yet, I don’t know if this is the case, but I may have to locate a baby to measure arm length before I cast off the arms.

P.S. Also, the OCD in me was very excited to be able to use the beautiful stitch markers that match my project. My parents brought them back for me from their recent trip out west. They found them in Tofino.
