This keep-you-warm-in-the-chilliest-of-houses rectangular shawl features my 1234 Huey handspun gradient Merino wool yarn. I’ve used slipped stitches and a background of natural color, rustic handspun Merino and Baby Camel Down (Cam Huey) to show off the 3 color gradient done in a 1,2,3,3,2,1 dye pattern.

The Bam Huey Handspun Twister Shawl, was designed using Bam Huey Twister yarn. Handspun Twister yarn uses 2 colorways that are plied together in a pattern to create a gradient look. I like to start with the darkest end for the lace edging.

This pattern was designed to show off gradient handspun yarns in lace/fingering weight . The pattern can be done with as little as 400 yards and up to 600 yards. A 400 yard skein will do a shallow crescent shawl. With larger skeins you can work more short rows to make a deeper shawl.

This pattern beautifully shows off gradient yarns. For DK weight skeins of 180-200 yards, there are two places to adjust the pattern for the skein length.
