Crochet: Animal Toy
I designed this in honour of one of my friends who’s a jellyfish. Sorry, who was a jellyfish. Right now he’s a nine-year-old boy, but in his last life, he was a jellyfish. He once tried to teach me the language that they speak under water, but unfortunately i never really got the hang of it.
Knitting: Scarf, Shawl / Wrap
This morning I followed a little coyote up a pine-covered hill and through a grassy meadow in the light, misty rain that comes with California winters. It was a beautiful morning, watching the rain gently give way for a few spots of washed-out sunlight to show themselves before the fog rolled back in; the perfect morning for knitting and drinkin...
Knitting: Electronics Cozy
Wanna knit something tiny, cute and utterly pointless? Well here you go! Now you can have a sweater for your iPod because, as we all know, they need to be protected from the cold, just in case they might catch pneumonia. Or, for that matter, if your iPod suddenly becomes rabid or turns into a zombie, remember that if only you had taken my advice...
Knitting: Cozy - Other
I have made a chart, which you are welcome to follow if you can figure it out, but in case not, I also have the stitch pattern written out. A lot of things about this pattern are fairly arbitrary, and the basic stitch pattern is the only thing that’s really important.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
On a windy, rainy weekend trapped inside your zombie survival base with nothing much to do but hopefully fantasize that the rain will wash away the hoards of undead ghouls currently occupying your front lawn, this is the perfect hat to knit.
Knitting: Costume, Accessories - Other
You can be pretty sure that both Yoda and Obi Wan knew how to knit. How else could they both survive all those dreary years in Jedi Master isolation? Now you can join them by using the woolly force yourself as a stitching Skywalker.
Knitting: Hair accessories, Headband
I love the idea of dreadlocks, but i’ve never wanted to have to commit enough to actually have any. Same with a mohawk, i guess (check out my pattern Astro Viking Mohawk Hat.)
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
So… there must be a million ribbed hat patterns out there, quite a few of them cabled. Why should you knit this one?
Knitting: Beret, Tam
This is my first beret design, but i think it came out really well. it’s easy to knit with simple shaping, but i think it came out really well. Basically, it winds up as a big pouffy mushroom shape, a little Renaissance-y and a little bit like a chef hat. It also comes out very big, so some basic blocking or felting will probably be necess...
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
Available in sizes Small, Medium and Large. Medium and Large in particular need test knitters. If you are interested, check out this thread or feel free to simply cast on and start your project.
Knitting: Doll Clothes
I designed this Renaissance era blouse and skirt set for Cinzia, a porcelain doll my mom bought at Ren Faire around 20 years ago. Cinzia is handmade, but compared to standard, mass-produced dolls, I’d say she’s around the size of a Groovy Girl. As far as the outfit goes, it seems like a peasant style, although most outfits like this which I̵...
Crochet: Hair accessories, Headband
I know hardly anything about crocheting, but the more little things like this i make, the more it seems to make sense. As you can probably guess, this pattern is really easy. It took me around ten minutes to make, but would probably snap off the hook even faster for someone who really knew what they were doing.
Knitting: Bag - Other
I designed this easy little pouch to hold tea bags when i’m traveling. It would work for anything small though: coins, stitch markers, guitar picks…
Crochet: Cozy - Other
I designed this as a cute cozy for my stainless steel water bottle. I think stainless steel water bottles are very good at keeping your water cool, and they help the earth by using less plastic for disposable bottles.
Knitting: Ornamental Flower, Accessories - Other
In a cold harsh world of concrete and apocalyptic gore, you really need some fuzzy, hand knit flowers to brighten your day. Make one of these to plant in the little strip of grass next to the sidewalk, or put one in a pot and give it to that absent-minded friend of yours who can’t seem to feed themselves properly, let alone a house plant. If you...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I hate dropping stitches when the mess up your pattern, but i have to admit dropping a stitch and unraveling it all the way to the cast-on is pretty fun. I designed Scaffolding because i realized that dropping a stitch could actually be considered “decreasing” if you don’t use it to often. Well, i think this actually came out p...
Knitting: Accessories - Other, Cozy - Other
This design is meant for yarn bombing, but really you could use the simple lace pattern for almost anything. When i yarn bomb i never use patterns, but this came out really well so i decided to type it up in case anyone else felt like using it.
