Knitting: Throw
No worries about gauge, this is a REALLY simple pattern perfect for “mindless knitting” (i.e. Netflix, audiobooks, and knit night).
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
10/30/10 - originally made and named after a friend of mine. Thought i’d share what I did - but it’s a free pattern (meaning i haven’t paid anyone to edit this, just throwing it out there for your fun), so there are no guarantees, but it’s simple enough - it’s just a circular knitting stitch pattern from a vintage Mon Tricot book, with a twiste...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Named for the person I designed it for, this is a very simple pattern that any beginner who can knit in the round can complete. He prefers a shorter, tighter cap and so folded the brim. I didn’t.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
it’s a slouchy hat. it fits a standard adult noggin - it fits my average 22” female head, and looks just fine on an average-sized adult male.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern features a beautiful, undulating pattern of combined cable-esque waves and a lace vine. Yes, it features one of my most-hated stitches (p2tog-tbl) but… not very often, and the results are pretty. Use POINTY needles to save your sanity there.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Actually very quick and easy, beginners will feel proud, more advanced knitters will have something to keep them interested and still get a project done quickly. That’s why I love washcloths - sometimes you need the instant gratification!
Knitting: Cowl
Simply enough, the horizontal cable pattern on the cowl reminded me of the morning glories crawling and winding up the fence everywhere in my yard (they’re ladders for faeries, you see). The cowl is lovely knitted up all by itself. Add a roomy hood for more warmth!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Originally created for the KnitPicks Independent Designer Program, now available as a set of three patterns from easy to difficult (Lotus-Squash Blossom - Japanese Garden Bamboo) that make a gorgeous gift set - all while learning valuable knitting skills from three short, fast projects.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Less than one skein is required to knit this slouchy little brimmed tam, which should fit a newborn up to six months. Sizing was gathered from WoollyWormhead’s amazing hat sizing resource - it is best suited to a larger newborn and fit my daughter best beginning at 3 months.

Knitting: Scarf
Evie has reported from San Luis Obispo, where it is currently uncharacteristically cold - people are stopping her on the streets and in libraries to comment on this scarf!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern is easy, a great one for beginners, and features two square stitch patterns that make for a really nice washcloth.
