Knitting: Baby Blanket
In bold stripes, seven colors form a gradient from steel blue to paprika. The stitch pattern visually forms three panels adding interest to the flat stockinette stitch background. The blanket was initially inspired by a color gradient garter stitch pattern, but I soon realized the type of yarn I purchased would look much better in a clean, flat...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Yarn and Yardage:
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is neat and trim, meant to be tucked into a collar. The pattern can be knit with any super chunky yarn. The baby alpaca is fabulous around the neck and close to skin.
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern is the second in the series “While Watching British Mysteries on Netflix.” Easy and fun to knit, goes really fast yet has a nice substantial feel to it. The fiber is lightweight even though it’s chunky. It goes with everything because its style is classic and yet down to earth.
Knitting: Cowl
The Big Cosy Cowl is a quick knit and is a great way to use hand dyed fiber showing long color changes to their advantage. This fiber is Plymouth Yarn Mushishi which is 95% wool, 5% silk. The pattern stitch is a modified rib stitch. This type of stitch gives a nice vertical dimension in contrast to the long color changes that make up the horizo...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
The Willa Blanket is made from cozy hand-dyed superwash merino wool. I used Dream in Color because I had a Tulip Sweater kit and didn’t want to make another sweater so used the kit yarn to make the blanket. I really love it and so does Willa--the little baby girl whose namesake is used for the blanket.
Knitting: Bookmark, Hanging Ornament
This is a very simple, easy to make gift for teachers, loot bags, co-workers, book club friends, stocking stuffers and more. They can be made in any weight yarn with lots of bobbles, beads and trinkets hanging off the ends.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Knit the body of the wrap with a size 5 and the borders need a size 8 or size to get the look you want.
Knitting: Cowl
The ribs in this cowl snuggle up under the chin making it feel cozy without a lot of bulk. The ruffles on the cast on end add a soft dimensional touch.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
This pattern is made from lace weight and mohair yarn. It’s a long scarf that sits nicely on shoulders and looks very feminine and would be nice for a evening out.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Cowl, Scarf
This scarf took all of one skein (I had about 5 inches of yarn left). I would use two skeins because then the I-cord fringe could be beefier and longer. This is technically a lace stitch but I think it looks like macrame, too. Very fun to knit in a varigated yarn.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern uses worsted weight wool and fingering weight mohair dyed in the same color scheme. It is really long and could be shortened or made wider very easily. It’s knit length-wise so there aren’t very many rows. Very easy with a fun look.
