Hercinia is a legendary bird that lived in the Hercynian forest in Germany. On the ancient times, Hercynian forest was a dense forest that covered a large part of Western Central Europe. Hercinia’s feathers were magical: they glowed in the dark so brightly they could light up the path, even in the dense forest.

This sock pattern was inspired by the town church of Jyväskylä, Finland. Above the altar there is a dome which is beautifully decorated. There are green clover leaves and golden sprigs bordering the dome. The name of the sock means ‘the heart of the city’.

She could not help asking, because she wanted so much to know. ”Are all the flowers dead, or do some of them come again in the summer? Are there ever any roses?”

This is a summerly sister to my Quiet Folly pattern.

Hopeatiuku is Finnish and it means ’silver bell’, and it hints at the beautiful singing of robins.

This is a very easy and relaxing shawl to make, just garter stitch and a little bit of simple lace. This color reminded me of falling leaves, thus the name (syyslalu means ‘autumn song’ in Finnish)

This pattern is actually a recipe. I just wrote down what I did! That’s why there is only one size, about 38 inches. Note: this pattern has not been tested (if you find errors, please let me know).

This super easy shawl is worked in garter stitch and lace. There are no charts as the lace is maybe the easiest ever to work! Size is easily adjustable, you may repeat garter stitch and lace parts as many times as you wish.

I got a lovely yellow primrose from a friend. I thought that I have to make a shawl inspired by primroses… But actually this reminds me more of tulips! Hence the name - as Wikipedia tells: “Liliopsida is a botanical name for the class containing the family Liliaceae (or Lily Family)”.

Garter stitch shawl worked from the bottom up. Garter stitch section is shaped using short rows - no worries, there is no need to wrap stitches. :)

I designed this shawl at a difficult time in my life. While knitting the shawl I realized that after all I was stronger than I could have ever imagined. The shawl is named after David Guetta’s and Sia’s song Titanium.
