Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a baby hat knitted in the round. You will need about 100-150 yards of two colors, a light and a dark. It is a very simple shadow knitting pattern and knits up quickly.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is knitted one square at a time without breaking the yarn. Easy peasy, and great for showing off color-change yarns and handspuns.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
In addition to the yarn, you will need 112 size 8 seed beads and a size 10 (1.15mm) steel hook to place them, and a standard sized glass or plastic round ornament. This ornament only uses a few grams of yarn. An entire skein would make a lot.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
These ornaments are a great way to use up leftover yarn. In addition to 1-2 grams of yarn, you will need 30 size 8 seed beads and a size 10 (1.15mm) hook to place them, and a standard size round glass or plastic ornament.
Knitting: Scarf
Surround yourself with lacy butterflies of all sizes. Version 1 is knitted in superwash wool for a warm scarf. Version 2 is knitted in Infinity Soy Silk for a dressy, drapey scarf.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This pattern works well in K2C2 Soxx Appeal, as well. It is a wool, nylon and elastic yarn that is very soft and stretchy. I ball of either yarn makes 1 pair of gloves.
Knitting: Scarf
Version 2 in the pattern uses Crystal Palace Mini Mochi and size 7 needles.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Throw
This pattern can also be knit as an afghan using worsted weight yarn instead of fingering weight. Yardage and needle size are similar.
