The Rosafolia hat is a beanie with a close fit and cables inspired by emerging rose leaves. It’s worked in the round from the bottom up, with a tubular cast-on for a neat, stretchy edge to the ribbing. The leaf-like cable motifs flow up into columns of knits on a purl background, all converging in satisfying crown decreases.

For this stranded colourwork design I was inspired by the joy of spring sunlight streaming through stained glass, and my love of geometric forms. I really love how Art Deco designers and artists like Frank Lloyd Wright brought these elements together in fresh compositions that are both beautiful and practical.

Mistland contrasts a simple, boxy shape for the body with a flowing lace pattern on the balloon sleeves for a floating, ethereal feel that evokes the gentle, diffuse light of a misty dawn.

For this design I was inspired by the textures on the bark of old trees; the deep ridges and twisting of ivy vines are reflected in the ribbing and faux cable details. ‘Woodbind’ is an old rural name for wild vines that grow in hedgerows and up trees.

The Rimeflower Hat was inspired by early morning frost on the dried-out flower stalks in winter fields. It’s worked in two colours, in the round from the bottom up, with corrugated ribbing for the brim flowing into a stranded motif recalling flower stalks and blooms on the main body of the hat.
