Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Nautilina, named after the pre-historic relative of the modern day nautilus, is a semi-circular shawl designed to lay beautifully and easily stay wrapped around your shoulders with little effort. It is knit from the top down with 5 segments that gently swirl in a spiral creating interest within a simple stockinette background.
Designed to take advantage of the color changes in yarns such as Knit Picks Chroma and Crystal Palace Mochi Plus, the Heidi Mountain Scarf is on the bias with rows of eyelets and dropped yarn overs to create texture without distracting from the yarn’s colors.

A rectangular lace stole or scarf designed using traditional Estonian lace stitch patterns (charted) and construction methods. I’ve designed this pattern as a tribute to my mother who had a fascination with collecting flamingos and spent her final days traveling to visit Estonia.
