Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Ever need to wear hand-warmers so that you can text, pay your bus fare, or just find your keys, only to discover that your fingertips turn to blocks of ice? This fun pair of mitts is designed to give the thumb, index and middle fingers maximum movement, while short-row shaping shields your other fingers from the cold in scrunchy garter stitch.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The pattern on these socks reminds me of feathers neatly tucked in behind one another, and the way that ducks preen themselves after getting their heads wet. Featherfoot might not give you winged feet, but the mirrored, all-over pattern provides plenty of satisfaction.
Knitting: Legwarmers
My sister-in-law asked for legwarmers for Christmas, and was very particular about what kind. Together we chose some lovely Texere Yarns Airedale Aran in Herb (colourway 1222), and I got knitting!
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
I designed this simple geometric star for the BaaRamEwe Christmas window display, a Jean Greenhowe knitted nativity set made by the BaaRamEwe knit night crew.
Knitting: Needle Holder
What does every good knitter need? Yarn, good light, yarn, friends and relatives who value hand-knitted gifts, yarn, storage space, yarn, needles, yarn… What does every good Discworld Assassin need? Aristocratic birth, good contacts, climbing ability, ruthlessness, black clothing of the highest quality, plenty of concealed weapons… Ah! Assassin...
