Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Crochet this cloth in two colors, and the pattern resembles rickrack. Work it in three, and the character will completely change, the colors tumbling Tetris-like in satisfying stacks.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
After you’ve done the challenging work of making this cloth, just relax and let your fingers do the washing.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Known by names like crochenit, cro-hook, cro-knit, and “On the Double Crochet,” double-ended Tunisian crochet adds a whole new dimension to color work.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
“Knock-knock!”
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Practice alternating rows of color in Tunisian simple stitch while making this fun and useful cloth. Great with scrap balls of yarn, too: Just choose a neutral main color and, when the contrasting color is indicated, mix it up with whatever leftover bits you have in your stash.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Unusual wrapped stitches make this cloth really stand out. The stitch pattern features strands of yarn pulled over groups of Tunisian simple stitches, making for a classic-looking cloth that you’ll reach for again and again.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Learn how to make short rows and the modified Tunisian simple stitch while working this clever cloth. With this single-yarn version of my popular blanket pattern, it’s easier than ever to give Wedgies to people you love.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Choose from three mitered center treatments and three edging options to create an assortment of fun cloths. Satisfying to make, these cloths are also great for practicing Tunisian decrease techniques.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A large embossed diagonal square shows just how easy it is to create pictures in Tunisian crochet. If you’re new to symbol crochet, this pattern will introduce you to chart reading, too.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This cloth combines Tunisian simple stitch and Tunisian purl stitch to form a classic, all-over basket weave fabric that’s great for washing the dirtiest dishes. The cloth is framed with a gentle lapping underwater edging.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Get your mind out of the gutter: This cloth is only dirty after you’ve washed your dishes. (The “bump” in the title is the stitch pattern, while the “grind” having to wash the dishes.)
Crochet: Baby Blanket
I have a confession: I’m a bit of a hippy-wannabe. Born and bred in California, I came of age while at college in Berkeley. My prematurely grey hair is – to put it diplomatically – “easy care,” and I’m most comfortable in my faded jeans and Birkenstocks.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
Knitting is your superpower, and sock knitting is your particular feat of strength. So it will be a snap to make one or a dozen of these to decorate your Festivus pole – or for any reason at all.
Crochet: Bracelet
As tasty as candy and as much fun as a barrel of monkeys, Pop Rocks is a quick and easy way to practice making popcorn stitches. Finish your bracelet with a special .5”/1.5 cm diameter button.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
It’s a Trap!” is a breeze to crochet, yet will keep the chill off as you wait for the Millennium Falcon to swoop in and whisk you away to your next adventure. (It’ll also keep you warm in the ticket line at the latest Star Wars film.)
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf was inspired by my desire to find a project that lived up to the potential in a highly variegated skein of Socks That Rock.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap

Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Doing dishes is a never-ending battle. If I must clean, though, the bands of crochet ribs and spikes in these cloths join forces to conquer those dirty pots and pans in no time.
Crochet: Scarf
Simple. Warm. Elegant. Bob and Weave really packs a punch.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
This blanket, whose colors recall the black and lavender tiles of my grandmother’s vintage bathtub, is a simple, versatile design that can be easily customized to use any number of colors and be made in any size and weight of yarn.
Crochet: Throw, Baby Blanket
Dizzyingly simple once the spiral stitch pattern’s been established, this blanket just goes round and round, with back bump stitches giving the fabric bounce, stretch, and mesmerizing visual appeal.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
An all-over Tunisian crochet “bird’s foot” stitch pattern is framed by a simple rick-rack-look border in a contrasting color, resulting in a tailored, bouncy baby blanket just perfect for your little chickadee.
Crochet: Cowl, Scarf
Teachers: Please contact me if planning to purchase multiple copies for students so we can arrange a discount.
Crochet: Throw
There’s a great expression in English: “to jump on the bandwagon.” It means to go along with the crowd. I’ve never been someone to follow the herd. Because of this, I was a terrible Girl Scout: I refused to participate in getting badges with others in my troop, nor did I care how many boxes of cookies I sold each year.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
Just about everyone I know has been touched by cancer (my family has been hit especially hard in the last few years), so when Shall We Knit? suggested I design a versatile cap for those undergoing chemotherapy treatment and beyond, I knew I had to try my very best.
Crochet: Scarf
Call me Ishmael? I’d rather you didn’t, though you may well be calling yourself brilliant after completing this mid-length Mobius scarf. The pattern’s only real “trick” is the half-twist of the foundation chain during the set-up row, making for a project that’s just the thing to accompany you on your next sea-faring adventure.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Alternating Tunisian simple and slip stitches create an offset tiled pattern reminiscent of the Saltillo floors popular in homes in the American Southwest. This dishcloth is quick to work and a great use of leftovers to boot: just use different yarn scraps as desired for the contrast colors.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth, Towel
Five after Five is a dishcloth and towel set crafted in Tunisian crochet. The set takes its name from its appearance: it’s worked in 5 alternating columns of 5 stitches each. Perfect for a quick hostess gift or for just making your dishwashing chores a skosh more enjoyable – also a great introduction to Tunisian simple and purl stitches!
Crochet: Cowl
When you’re racing neck and neck toward the holiday gift-making finishing line, this cowl is just the thing. It features built-in buttonholes, and the heavily textured Crinkle Stitch pattern looks great on both sides, too! Super-bulky, super-quick, super-versatile – in short, a super choice for last-minute crafting.
Crochet: Coaster
Whether you’re a mother or even a brother from another mother, if you’re interested in trying some crochet, this coaster is a good first pattern. Clear written instructions make for a satisfying experience and result in a handsome finished object you’ll be proud to say you made.
Crochet: Scarf
This classic unisex scarf reimagines a Victorian motif for a modern audience. Jenny June is worked lengthwise, using the rustic, fresh-colored Kauni to great effect.
Crochet: Scarf
Tunisian simple stitch worked in subtly variegated shades of blue and purple combines with a picot edge to make this light and romantic scarf, which can also be worn as a shawlette.
Crochet: Baby Blanket, Throw
Give someone you love a Wedgie!
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
An infinity shawl crafted in filet crochet opens windows of opportunity for the wearer. The piece may also be styled as a hood, scarf, or cowl.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
And then there was the time I thought I’d invented a stitch for the edging, only to discover that Kim Guzman had popularized this stitch years before. Curses: Stitched again!
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Alternating Tunisian simple and purl stitches form a pleasing all-over pattern that is simple to make, delightfully tactile, and as tasty as honey.
Crochet: Scarf
Though theoretically a scarf, the subtle angling along the edges of the border suggests the narrowest of shawls. Inspired by Katherine Matthews’ design work, this scarf pairs a traditionally crocheted border with a Tunisian simple-stitch-and-purl body.
Crochet: Bracelet
This free pattern is based on Annette Petavy’s Flowers and Circles Necklace and was used in a class at Shall We Knit? The project can be completed within a few hours.
Crochet: Cowl
Designed as part of a beginner crochet course at Shall We Knit? in Waterloo, Ontario, this neck wrap pattern extends the crocheter’s stitch repertoire to include double crochet, half double crochet, and triple crochet -- all in an easily memorized pattern.
Crochet: Scarf
A quick and easy design featuring Tunisian knit stitch and chains. Caution: fabric wants to bias! Call it a design feature and enjoy the quirks.
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
Note: This design is a heavily reworked version of my previously available “Stash Pillow.”
Crochet: Scarf
This Tunisian crochet take on the popular Koigu Linen Stitch Scarf by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas uses a gobelin stitch variant to create a crisp, linen-look fabric that looks equally smart in several colors of Koigu or in a single 100 gram skein of a favorite fingering-weight yarn. Patterns for both versions are included.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Now included in Quick & Simple Crochet for the Home!
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A simple cloth, used as part of a beginner crochet class at Shall We Knit? in Waterloo, Ontario, that allows crafters to explore a few single crochet variations and to practice chart and pattern reading.
Crochet: Containers
Made with scraps of your favorite fingering weight yarn, these miniature nesting bowls are perfect for stashing loose change, stitch markers, or even a popped balloon or two. Appropriate for Bears of Very Little Brain. (With apologies to A.A. Milne.)
Crochet: Scarf
A handsome scarf, simply constructed of crocheted chains and a single-crochet variant, that mimics the look of knitting! Use a variety of colours or bits and bobs of leftover sock wool to plan something truly unique.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Although to the untrained eye this Tunisian Simple Stitch dishcloth may look calm, cool and collected, I was anything but. Note to self: begin planning Christmas gifts earlier next time to prevent being worked into a tizzy!
