Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I was planning to go to a famous quadrennial winter sports competition, and thought the arena might be chilly, so I designed these wristwarmers that should keep any winter sports fan warm. The name alludes to both a “twizzle” (an ice skating move, also visually reflected in the cable pattern) and a certain mountain venue…

From the designer:
Knitting: Scarf
This beaded scarf pattern is knitted with light fingering weight yarn and 6/0 seed beads. The lace pattern is relatively simple, and this scarf can be knit very quickly.
Knitting: Dress
This cute sundress was designed for my niece’s birthday last year. It’s very easy to knit, with a deceptively simple lace hem and a seed stitch bodice, and knits up really quickly. The pattern contains 3 sizes: 6mo, 1yr, and 2yr.

An easy and fun stranded hat in three colors of worsted yarn. This is a variation of the Madison’s Hat pattern, and a great next step if the Madison’s Hat was your first stranded hat. The yellow stitches on the top section make little W’s, hence the name.
Knitting: Cowl
Scarves are wonderful, but sometimes they just aren’t right; the long ends get in the way, or the knot bunches or works loose and doesn’t keep you warm. To stay warm in the breeziest of times, this neckwarmer does the trick. Like many neckwarmers, it’s ribbed – but in a diagonal rib pattern that will make you think of a whirlwind. It knits up l...
Knitting: Electronics Cozy
Pattern requires 3 skeins total - 2 in a main color and 1 in a contrast color. Yarn is held double-stranded.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Madison’s hat is a very very easy Fair Isle hat. The hats are made with bulky yarn so they knit up fast. And it’s fun, because the knitting changes so frequently. You keep saying to yourself “one more round… just… one… more…” because you want to see how the color pattern develops.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Pattern includes Baby, Toddler, and Child sizes.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This pattern is for a simple top-down hat with ribbing and moss stitch, from one skein of Noro Kureyon. (It’s actually the second pattern I wrote, in 2005, so it had to be simple.) It’s really very basic — if you haven’t knitted a hat before, this is a good first pattern. Because it’s top down, you can just keep knitting until you think it’s lo...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Summary: Fingerless mitts with small cable pattern and thumb gusset, knit in the round.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Wristwarmers such as these are really useful in the winter, especially now that heating oil has become so expensive!… these are an excellent first cabling pattern; if you’ve never tried to cable, try this! It’s easier than it looks and the results are gratifying.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These wristwarmers are incredibly fast to knit (hence the name). Using the recommended yarn only uses approximately 2/3 of the skein.
