This pattern has been updated to include instructions for both Worsted weight yarns or Sport weight yarns. Please read these notes thoroughly to choose your correct yarns and needles.
Worsted Version Materials:
+Main Color- 175yds, 75g - Malabrigo Rios or any similar worsted weight yarn
+Contrast Color- 100yds, 50g - Malabrigo Rios or any similar worsted weight yarn
+Body Needles: US size 8 circular needles with 20 inch cord
+Ribbing Needles: US size 6 circular needles with 16 inch cord
+ Tapestry Needle and Beginning of Round Marker
Sport Version Materials:
+Color A - 110yds, 50g -Blue Sky Fibers Baby Alpaca
+Color B - 110yds, 50g -Blue Sky Fibers Baby Alpaca
+Color C - 110yds, 50g -Blue Sky Fibers Baby Alpaca
+Body Needles: US size 6 circular with 20 inch cord
+Ribbing Needles: US size 4 circular needles with 16 inch cord
+Tapestry Needle and Beginning of Round Marker
Gauge:
-Worsted 18 stitches in 4 inches in pattern after blocking.
-Sport 22 stitches in 4 inches in pattern after blocking.
Abbreviations:
-Rep- Repeat
-K- Knit
-S- Slip 1 stitch purlwise (as if to purl)
-BOR- Beginning of round
-Sts- Stitches
-1x1 Rib- Knit 1, Purl 1
-MC- Main Color
-CC- Contrast Color
Notes:
-If you swatch for this knit you should swatch in the round using body needles and follow
sections 2 through 7.
-The underlined blank spots next to each section title are for writing in which color you’re using if you choose to do a modification using more than 2 colors.
-This cowl is worked in one piece, in the round with a long tail cast on and tubular bind off. I have linked a video for the bind off if you haven’t done it before.
-Only one color is worked at a time so no stranded colorwork experience is needed. I recommend carrying your colors up your rows vertically to avoid a bunch of weaving in ends.
