Originally designed for a MKAL, the pattern has now been consolidated into one document. Elements of three different ethnic knitting cultures have been used in this shawl. Thus it is an amalgamation of sorts.

The original shawl was made using light fingering weight yarn, which has sadly been discontinued. Any light fingering or lace weight will be excellent options.

The shawl was designed to use one MC and 5 CCs. However, it can be made all in one color or using 1 to 5 CCs. Instructions are included in the appropriate clue for how you might use these different options. Pictures on the pattern page are examples of some possible colorways.

Materials needed:
Yarn: 900 yds. MC and 70-80 yards of 5 different CCs or equivalent yardage for CCs in either light fingering or lace weight. (See photos for examples of yarn possibilities.)
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 6 (4.0 mm) for light fingering;
US 4 (3.5 mm and US 5 (3.75 mm) for lace weight OR size you need to make a fabric you like
Beads (optional): 484 beads are used as charted. Additional beads will be required if you wish to bead more heavily.

Design is suitable for intermediate knitters. Skills needed require knit, purl, increases, decreases of various kinds and ability to read charts. The pattern is not written out.
