I designed this hat for my son who loves lizards, inspired by the Southern alligator lizard of the Family Anguidae, which has interesting markings on its back.

Sizes include:
Child- to fit 21“ head circumference, 7” in height
Teen- to fit 21“ head circumference, 8” in height
Adult M- to fit 22“ head circumference, 8” in height
Adult L- to fit 23“ head circumference, 8” in height

This pattern is easily adjusted for other st counts by adding (or removing) repeats of the zigzag section of the chart. For a taller, slouchier hat, decreases could be postponed a few more rounds and the zigzag pattern carried up the hat further.

For child’s size (Adult M), designer used approximately:
36 (41)g MC: Cascade Yarns Pacific merino acrylic blend in colorway Peacock and
22 (22)g CC: Cascade Yarns Pacific merino acrylic blend in colorway Burnt Orange
