You can choose either a brown bear or polar bear, designed in a Waldorf style it is easy to knit using simple techniques and minimal materials with a photo step by step tutorial. The bear can also be easily made into a rattle.

The pattern is available for instant download in English. Finished bear is 8cm in height and 11cm long.

Skills required:
Cast on, knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together, cast off, simple embroidery

Materials used:

  • About 25g of DK 8ply wool or cotton in body colour (brown or white)
  • A small amount of beige wool or cotton for the muzzle (if knitting the brown bear)
  • 2.75mm knitting needles
  • A small amount of black embroidery thread for eyes
  • Darning needle for sewing the project together
  • Wool stuffing
  • Scissors

The body of the bear is knitted in one piece and the ears are knitted separately and sewn on at the end.
