Simple, cute, and incredibly easy to make! A applique cake slice can be a whimsical addition to a tea table, a fun accessory, or applied to blankets or garments to add a slice of heaven to any project. This pattern for making cake slices is simply a base, and can be easily added to, making the flavor combinations endless and the possibility for decorating even more so!

This pattern is Beginner Level. It includes techniques like color changing and uses some “free form” principles, but is very straight forward.

There are no special stiches, and the pattern will only become as complicated as you want to make it, after the base is completed. It can be made with any yarn, at any size! Just make sure you use the appropriate hook size, and that the yarn weights between colors are relatively close.
