Looking to make a scarf that says “wow, that’s crochet?”--well this is it! It’s also a great way to master the Celtic cabling technique that looks like graceful knotwork and also adds loft to the finished piece.

For a cowl, work the pattern to the desired length and stitch the ends together, or use more yardage for a longer, wrap-around scarf. You can create so many things with this design!

I used 100% wool DK weight yearn from our farm’s sheep, but you’re welcome to experiment with your favorite yarns. I’d recommend smooth fibers rather than highly textured or eyelash yarns, so you can easily see your stitches. Happy crocheting!
