One skein of sock wool will make both the fingerless gloves and a matching cowl/hat. The cowl can be worn on the shoulders, partly on the neck and head, and as a beanie/hat. The gloves keep the hands warm and the fingers free to touch things.

The cowl and the gloves have nice ruffles at the beginning and end of the project. The fabric is stretchy with a rib pattern. It is knit in the round.
