This 1871 pattern is from Anne Jane Cupples’ knitting book, published in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has a multiple of 12 stitches + 4 selvage stitches. 10 of the 12 pattern rows are “fancy” rows. I changed some of the decreases to improve the look of the leaves. I also corrected a pattern error.
I blocked the cast-on edge in gentle scallops but it can be blocked straight, if preferred.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, k2tog, SSK, p2tog, S2KP and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
