This 1884 baby sock pattern was so simple, I dared to use a variegated sock yarn for it! There are only 2 pattern rows with a multiple of 4 stitches. The vertical lines would be very flattering in a sweater! The pattern has a bit of stretch to it but I wouldn’t use it as a true ribbing.
“Elegant Baby Steps” knits up faster than ribbing due to row 2’s “p across”. I enjoyed both the pattern and the yarn on this one!

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
