The Dione Cardigan combines delicate cables and lace in a rhythmic stitch pattern that creates a fabric rich in subtle texture. Its clean, straight silhouette allows the stitch pattern to take centre stage, while carefully considered details bring balance and refinement to the design.
Named after Dione, one of the Oceanids in Greek mythology, the cardigan reflects a quiet sense of elegance and understated beauty. From the uninterrupted flow of the stitch pattern to the narrow I-cord edging and knitted button covers, every detail has been chosen to create a harmonious whole.
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. The back is worked first, followed by the shoulders and front pieces, which are joined at the underarm to continue the body in one piece. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes to knit the sleeves, and the front edges are finished with an attached I-cord.
