These toe-up socks are so addictive that I frequently refer to them as my guilty-pleasure knitting. When I should be working on designs, cleaning the house, or running errands, I find that the mindless stockinette is so compelling that I just can’t stop! I especially love this sock for gradient and self-striping yarns. The patterning appears as if by magic, with little effort on my part. The Fleegle heel in this design is my favorite toe-up heel, as it is so quick to knit and is probably the least disruptive of all the heels that include a gusset. I did not break the gradient yarn at all, yet it flowed beautifully through the heel.
Like other toe-up socks, this design is perfect for maximizing your yardage when using an unlabeled or partial skein. Just weigh the skein on a kitchen scale ahead of time and stop knitting the leg when you are a few grams short of the halfway point to ensure you have enough yarn for the second sock. It’s carefree knitting at its best, so cast on for some Easygoing!
