This toy is designed in a Waldorf style, it is easy to knit using simple techniques and minimal materials. The giraffe can also be easily made into a rattle.

The pattern is available for instant download in English. The finished giraffe is 15cm in height and 7cm across on the widest part of the body.

Skills required:
Cast on, knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together, inc (kfb), cast off, simple embroidery

Materials used:

— 2.75mm needles
— 2.75mm DPNs for the horns
— Scissors
— A darning needle
— 25g of 8ply cotton or wool in body colour (golden beige)
— Black embroidery thread for eyes
— Brown embroidery thread for spots
— Stuffing (I like to avoid polyester and use pure wool or cotton stuffing)
— Optional: rattle piece if making a baby rattle

The body of the giraffe is knitted in one piece and the ears are knitted separately and sewn on at the end.
