Ivo Beanie og Buff
Ivo Beanie is a simple beanie in 1x1 ribbing. The beanie is available in five different sizes: baby, child, adult small, adult medium (standard women’s size) and adult large (standard men’s size). The baby size corresponds to approximately 6-12 months. The child size is suitable for the smaller children (<4 years old), for larger children use size small adult. Make sure to measure the recipient’s head circumference in order to determine the right size. In the pattern, you can also choose between three different thickness as well as if you wish to make the hat with or without a small top. This way, you can get the hat exactly the way you want.

Ivo Buff (neck warmer) is a perfect match for the Beanie. I often knit mine in scrap yarn from other projects and simply knit until I run out of yarn. About 50 g of yarn is usually sufficient to make a neck warmer for a child and 50-100 g is good for an adult size neck warmer.

The beige beanie in the pictures is medium thickness beanie knit in Hjelholts Uldspinneri Håndværksgarn in the color Beige. The model has a head circumference of 55 cm and is wearing size small adult. The purple beanie in the pictures is medium thickness and size baby knit in Rauma Fivel. Rust beanie is a thin beanie knit in Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino in the color Rust.

The blue neck warmer in the pictures is a child size buff knit in Drops Air (variety 1). I used 30 g for this sample.

Sizes: Baby (child) adult small (adult medium) adult large.
Fits head circumference: 45-48 (48-51) 51-54 (54-57) 57-60 cm.
Gauge: thin (medium-thickness) thick beanie = 22 (20) 18 st = 10 cm in stockinette stitch.
Suggested needle sizes: thin (medium thick) thick beanie = 3.5 mm (4.0 mm) 4.5 mm small circular and double pointed needles.
Suggested yarn thin beanie: Sandnes garn Peer Gynt (50 g = 91 m), Sandnes garn Double Sunday (50 g = 105 m).
Suggested yarn medium thickness beanie: Hjelholts Uldspinneri Håndværksgarn (100 g = 200 m), Rauma Fivel (50 g = 100 m).
Suggested yarn thick beanie: Rauma Vams (50 g = 83 m), Hillesvåg Forgarn (100 g = 190 m).
Estimated yarn quantity: 100 (100) 150 (150) 150 g.
Level of difficulty: 1/5 (beginner friendly).
