Jyvä is Finnish for ‘grain’.

Jyvä Collar is a collar which is knitted flat and in the round with a DK weight. The collar is knitted by starting from the bottom edge with Garter Stitch and continuing the textured pattern of cables, Dip Stitches and twisted knit stitches with neck shaping on the front. On the back there are textured patterns with cables as well as Garter Stitch edges. The stitches are then picked up from the neck opening and knitted with 2 x 2 ribbing for added flexibility and comfort next to the skin.

Note! The Pastora base by Xolla Yarn is being discontinued, but you can replace Pastora with Bauma by Xolla Yarn.

Yarn: Sample uses 4 skeins of Pastora by Xolla Yarn (100% non-superwash Ripollesa sheep wool, 130 m / 142 yds per 50 g) in the colourway Fossil or approximately 500 m / 547 yds of DK weight yarn

Note! You may also use a strand of fingering and lace weight yarns together instead of holding a strand of DK weight yarn. If you wish to work with two threads then omit to the meterage/yardage given in DK weight yarn.

Needles: 3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles with 40 cm / 16-inch-long cable, 4 mm / US 6 circular needles needles with 80 cm / 32-inch-long cable. Remember to always use a needle size that gets you to the gauge.

Notions: Two stitch markers, cable needle (if needed) and a tapestry needle
