LINJE mittens
LINJE Mittens is a technique-building project in two-color brioche, where structure, shaping, and color logic are in focus.
The mittens are worked from the cuff up and allow you to systematically explore brioche construction: the interaction between stitches and yarn overs, the rhythm of color changes, and the vertical flow of the stitch pattern. The contrasting lines create a calm, graphic expression while also making it easier to read your knitting as you go.
The project is particularly suitable if you want to:
build confidence in two-color brioche
learn to recognize and “read” brioche stitches
work with thumb shaping integrated into the structure
understand how shaping affects the stitch pattern
The thumb increases are worked seamlessly into the pattern, while the decreases at the top bring the lines together in a soft, rounded finish. You work with the technique in a clear and repetitive format, allowing for both focus and immersion.
The elasticity of brioche creates a flexible, comfortable fit and adds warmth, but this project is as much a study in structure as it is a finished pair of mittens.
LINE Mittens are therefore not just mittens – but an introduction to working consciously with brioche as a constructive technique.
