Murmur of Bees was inspired by the KnitCircus colorway Flight of the Bumblebee that is specially dyed to knit up into black and yellow speckle bumblebees!

The cowl is designed with a split hem at the bottom, to lay flat around the shoulder, and then joined for a slightly tapered neck.

The base Honeycomb section is knit flat with a slip stitch pattern. At the transition to the top Bumblebee section, the piece is joined together in the round and continues in stockinette stitch with a purl pattern for the bees.
The cowl takes its name from the novel titled, The Murmur of Bees, by Sofía Segovia.

Skills required: cast on, knit, purl, working in the round, decrease stitches, bind off

The sample was knit using KnitCircus Ringmaster worsted weight yarn.
One 50 gram skein in the Flight of the Bumblebee colorway.
One 100 gram skein in the Wisconsin Desert colorway.
